UQ departments have the opportunity to book free advertising placements on UQ’s digital channels, including UQ web pages and OMC-managed digital screen signage. 

If interested in requesting promotional support, please review the channels and guidelines below to determine suitability. Please submit your booking request with as much notice as possible, to ensure you’re able to secure the placement you’re seeking. We’ll review your request in accordance with our schedule and respond within 2 – 3 business days. Please find booking forms below.

Digital signs

Sir Fred Schonell, Coldridge Street and UQ Lakes Walkway

These signs promote official and semi-official University functions and events, corporate messages, campus activities, corporate messages and key events. They must be relevant to UQ students and staff. (NB. Welcome messages will be considered where the message may be of interest to a broader UQ audience, in the instance a VIP is visiting or, is requested by a Senior Executive).

Sir Fred Schonell and Coldridge Street - artwork requirements

These are low-fi LED screens. Please ensure artwork is simple (1 – 2 block colours, minimal detail, no images) and font used is Gotham. If you don’t have Gotham installed, please use Helvetica or Montserrat.

UQ Lakes Walkway - artwork requirements

UQ Homepage Banner

As the first point of contact for visitors to the University website, it’s important the UQ homepage strongly reflects the UQ brand and corporate identity. Homepage banners are primarily used to promote key stories, events and initiatives that showcase the University’s brand platform of ‘Create change’.

Guidelines

  • Content to be relevant to multiple audiences - internal (staff and students) and external (prospective students, alumni and wider community)
  • Content reinforces UQ’s ‘Create change’ ethos and brand, and enhances UQ's reputation as a world-class university and destination of choice for prospective students and staff
  • Highlights achievements and initiatives of the university as a whole
  • Must link to a web page within the UQ domain (i.e. uq.edu.au).

NB. Placement on the homepage is limited, and as such, priorities are based on the size and breadth of the intended audience and support of greater university objectives.

UQ Events banner

UQ Events promotes events to the UQ community. In addition to the c listing on UQ events, a banner placement is available to further promote key events and activities. These events should be open to UQ students, staff and the wider public.

Guidelines

  • Relevant to multiple audiences (students, staff and wider community)
  • Event is open for people to register and/or attend (no closed invitation events will be promoted as banners)
  • Event must be listed on UQ Events website.

my.UQ Student page spotlights

The my.UQ student page acts as a portal to information and websites important to current students (e.g. mySI-net and student email). Students access this site on a regular basis, so is a great way to promote events, initiatives and activities to current students.

Guidelines

  • Must be relevant to all current students
  • Must link to a website for further information
  • Examples of spotlight placements:
    • Informational (primarily Academic Services messaging)
    • Creating awareness of student opportunities (e.g. UQ Abroad, UQ Sport, Concurrent Diplomas)
    • Promote key events such as Careers Fair or Orientation Week.
